Negative and Positive Numbers

When you are first learning to use negative numbers, it can be difficult. For example, 3- (-3) = 6, but at first, it is hard to master the fact that a negative and a negative makes a positive.
So, here is an easy way to remember.
Negative = Enemy
Positive = Friend

A friend of your friend is a friend ( adding a positive number equals a positive)
A friend of your enemy is an enemy ( adding a negative number equals negative)
An enemy of your enemy is your friend (subtracting a negative number equals postive)

Hope it helps!
